Batman – Arkham Asylum
Borrowed the game from a friend, installed, but doesn’t run (general protection fault crap), spent a few hours on it. I installed it again, no good. I wiped my drive and gave the disk back. No game is worth that kind of hassle you know.
Games are so concerned with anti-piracy that you cannot even run a borrowed game anymore, you HAVE to buy it, and even then there is no guarantee. Games have protection on top of protection. It is annoying is that everywhere you look you see people that cannot play it, but bought it, and people who downloaded it and can. I think good QA got kicked in the head somewhere along the line, or at least traded in for all those nifty ‘security’ features that do nothing for the people who bought the game… well except give them headaches.
Anime, Windows & Programming

Its been awhile since I posted. Anyway a little in the way of news is… I have started watching lucky star. It reminds me a bit of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. But I am fairly sure the two shows were made by the same team.
Aside from that I have a copy of windows 7 now installed on my main computer. I have a full genuine single user retail version thanks to microsoft, such nice people (sic). Its not bad and my horror stories from installing vista or mac os x did not repeat themselves. Which is always a good thing.
In other news, my emulator is not going to well, I need to rewrite the memory controller. However I did manage to make a Nintendo DS based save editor for pokemon. It works pretty well. (I really should start hosting a download page)
It failed!
I am sure you all do not care, but I failed to install Mac OS X in both places. Though my laptop got close to running it the video never worked. Even after endless hours of toiling over it.. So I installed Kubuntu instead, that at least I know works.
Once the official windows 7 comes out I will probably be switching my main system over to it, and maybe my new laptop as well. However it all depends on what my new laptop is. As much as I no longer want to mess with macs I am still considering getting one.
Hopefully if Psystar’s battle with apple works out we all will be able to enjoy Mac OS X on our PC soon (but knowing apple, probably not).
